John Whibley, Founder and Managing Director
John has spent the past thirty years turning business concepts into multi-million dollar companies.
His idea for GlobalWon Plus – of combining the world's most popular game with the world's most powerful business vehicle – he regards as his best yet.
Starting from scratch with just a small plot of land, John made his first fortune building up one of the UK’s largest chain of discount warehouses and garden centres. Though he denies it, he’s seen as a pioneer of the “out of town” shopping model.
It’s just the first example of many in John’s career where he took a simple idea and made it into a huge business.
In the 90’s John got involved in the network marketing industry, as he saw is as a way to give himself the freedom of lifestyle he wanted (yes, even multi-millionaires want more freedom and flexibility!).
Starting as a sales consultant, he was soon a director and CEO of the first company he worked for. In this role John got to travel the world, and it is at this time he built up a formidable base of contacts, most of whom he still does business with to this day. The company did quite well too and, under John’s leadership, was soon doing annual sales of over $60 million a year.
John has a real passion for travel, and spends half his time abroad doing business for GlobalWon Plus, particularly in the Far East where he has several homes. When he’s not travelling you can usually find John in one of two places: his £4 million Sussex mansion (which used to be owned by a member of Pink Floyd) where he keeps his pride and joy, a fairly extensive collection of Porsche cars; or in the Happi Group head office in Malta, where he also owns several luxury properties.
“I think the reason I got into network marketing in the first place was I had in mind a particular lifestyle,” says John. “Even though my garden centre business was doing great, and I’d already made a lot of money, running that company was taking all my time. Selling that company and working for myself, rather than for hundreds of other people who were relying on me was a great relief. Now I go where I want, when I want, and actually since I’ve been in network marketing I’ve made a lot more money for me and the companies I’ve been associated with than I ever did doing anything else.”
Jamie Mather, Executive Vice President
Jamie is a very successful entrepreneur whose businesses have brought him and lots of other people wealth beyond their wildest dreams over the last 15 years.
Under his leadership his previous business became one of the top five online direct sales companies in Russia. With turnover of over $20 million a year, Jamie wasn’t the only one to make a lot of money. The company’s top distributors regularly took home 5 figure pay checks each month.
“Most of these people came from what you would call average backgrounds,” says Jamie. “A bit like myself really. One of our biggest earners, for example, was a nurse in Kazakhstan. Very soon she was earning more in one month than she would normally earn in years from her regular job. I’m still in touch with most of those people, and they still send letters thanking me for what that company has done for their lives. When that’s a company you started yourself in a small office in the north of England, and it’s grown to touch the lives of so many people around the world, it’s really humbling and something I’m tremendously proud of. When you’ve got 10,000 people chanting your name in a football stadium, you’ve obviously done something right.”
He recently oversaw the multi-million Euro sale of his previous business to a large pharmaceutical company in order to take up his current position with Happi Group.
Jamie has a strong background in Information Technology, having previously set up and managed technology companies, and he brings these skills to bear to ensure that GlobalWon Plus is a constant innovator.
As a business visionary Jamie has the all too rare gift of being able to clearly formulate and communicate his ideas, energising and exciting fellow directors, staff and customers alike.
